Dr hab. Ewa Bal teaches performance studies at the Performance Institute of the Polish Department (Jagiellonian University). She taught the courses on the Polish language and culture at L’Orientale University in Naples (2004-2008). She was a visiting professor at the La Sapienza University in Rome and the university in Barcelona. She is a member of European Association for Studies of Theatre and Performance (EASTaP), International Federation for Theatre Research (FIRT) and Polish Society of Theatre Studies. She authored two books: Lokalność i mobilność kulturowa teatru. Śladami Arlekina i Pulcinelli (2017) oraz Cielesność w dramacie. Teatr Piera Paola Pasoliniego i jego możliwe kontynuacje (2006)
and co-edited two anthologies: Performatyka. Terytoria (Kraków 2017)
i Performans, performatywność, performer. Próby definicji i analizy krytyczne (2013). She is the editor of the series: Nowe Perspektywy – Performatyka. She translated several Italian dramas: P.P. Pasolini’s Orgia, Chlew (2003), Pilades. Calderon (Panga Pank 2007) and Emmy Dante (Panga Pank, 2011).
